Staff

Camp Walden’s staff to camper ratio is 1:2 with many counselors returning year after year for another Walden summer. While the majority of our staff come from across the United States, we also hire staff from Australia, New Zealand and the UK. All of our counselors are specialists in one or two of the activities we offer and have a demonstrated interest in working with children.

Female counselors live in wooden cabins with the campers in groups of 8 – 12; male counselors live together in a dormitory setting. All counselors working in specialty areas are required to have current certifications. For example our waterfront staff have the required lifeguard and boating certifications; climbing wall staff have the required climbing certificates.
